NATIONAL CATHOLIC BAND DIRECTORS’ ASSOCIATION
BAND FESTIVAL The Festival will take place at St. Mary’s Hall at Villanova University. Come, perform and listen to other bands play. We will do our best to group bands in similar performance sizes. Band directors may have more than one school participate. There will be a distinguished panel who will rate the bands and make comments. These comments will be sent directly to the band director at his or her school. No postings of results or markings will be made during the Festival. This is strictly a chance to come perform, better your spring concert, have members of the panel make suggestions for improvements, confirm your remarks to the students, and compliment your band. Bands that participate will receive a certificate of a Good, Excellent, or Superior performance. All band rating Superior will receive a trophy which will be sent directly to the school. Every principal of each participating school will receive a special Friend of the Band certificate. There will be warm up rooms so you may tune your band and prepare them for their performance. The maximum time you may perform is 15 minutes. There is no minimum time performance or number of songs you may play. A new band will be scheduled every 20 minutes. Music stands and percussion instruments will also be provided. Please send in your application in early. We will try our best to accommodate your schedule, but applications received first will receive time preference. It is not necessary that you mail in all of your schools’ applications at the same time, thought it will make it easier for us to schedule your concerts at a more convenient time for you.
